Save Jamaica’s Sea Turtles

The Jamaica Environment Trust (JET) has worked with communities in Portland, St. Elizabeth and Westmoreland to monitor sea turtle nesting. Community members and NGOs have been trained in sea turtle biology and monitoring, and received equipment such as headlamps, handheld GPS units, and disposable cameras. The data gathered by the communities is submitted to the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), who is the WIDECAST Country Coordinator for Jamaica.

We also have a Facebook page – Save Jamaica’s Sea Turtles.
