Pear Tree Bottom Judgement No. 1 - May 16, 2006

In 2005 JET, the Northern Jamaica Conservation Association (NJCA) and four individuals from the Runaway Bay area formed an alliance to file a judicial review action on the decision to grant an environmental permit to Hoteles Jamaica Pinero Ltd. (HOJAPI) to build a 1,918 room hotel at Pear Tree Bottom in St Ann. This is the first of two judgments handed down in the matter on May 16, 2006:
